SouthPark Homes for Sale and Real Estate

Area Description

Home to the largest shopping mall in the Carolinas, SouthPark is one of Charlotte’s most popular neighborhoods. From sweeping farmland to a thriving urban hub, SouthPark has evolved into one of the city’s finest destinations for shopping, dining and housing. And as an ever-growing business district, the area employs almost 70,000 people.

“Vibrant” and “connected” are two words Jill Miller, an agent with Helen Adams Realty, assigns to SouthPark. “It’s so centrally located,” she says. Less than five miles from Uptown and a quick jump to South Charlotte, the prestigious community spans all types of neighborhoods, from standard houses to million-dollar estates.

Area Highlights

You’ll love

With its rich retail offerings, coveted dining options and growing social scene, SouthPark is city within the city.

The Market

It’s particularly great for young families looking for central location, great shopping and dining, and solid schools. Where you may struggle to buy a starter home in other Charlotte areas, Giles Barker says you can find one in the $200,000 to $300,000 range.

Lifestyle

Fabulous shopping and dining, a booming business district and luxury homes define this popular neighborhood.

Recreation

The symphony hosts an outdoor concert series called Summer Pops every Sunday in June at Symphony Park. “It’s a great place to have a picnic, bring wine and wind down from the weekend,” says Giles Barker.

Dining and Entertainment

Mainstay restaurants like Rooster’s and Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar attract both locals and visitors, and new restaurants like Corkbuzz, a NYC wine bar near Whole Foods popping up.

Around the Area

The area’s beautiful houses, large yards and easy access to high-end shopping and dining sparks healthy competition with other communities in the greater Charlotte region.

Particularly in the luxury market, Giles Barker with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty says, Charlotte residents are realizing you can get more for your money in SouthPark compared with other upscale neighborhoods like Myers Park and Dilworth.

“There’s been a big spike in inquiries from people in those hot spots,” he says. “They’re now thinking of moving five or 10 minutes south, because they can get more for their money.” And with so much to offer, it’s not hard to see why.

SouthPark Mall and Phillips Place boast high-end retail like Nordstrom, Crate & Barrel and Tiffany & Co. Many SouthPark neighborhoods are linked with some of the city’s premier schools. Local events like the annual fall Turkey Trot foster community engagement.
