South Charlotte Homes for Sale and Real Estate
Nestled between sought-after South Park and booming Ballantyne sits a whole host of luxury neighborhoods in South Charlotte. Bordered with winding roads and mature trees, communities like Quail Hollow, Montebello, Tuckaway Park and Olde Providence showcase the best in Southern elegance. Linda Barr, a realtor with Allen Tate, says the established area of Charlotte is a hot spot for home buyers. It boasts excellent public schools, easy access to several esteemed private schools, plus the location is hard to beat. Surrounded by an explosion of dining opportunities, it’s also close to shopping at SouthPark Mall, Blakeney, Stonecrest and The Arboretum.
The Town of Pineville is located within the southernmost portion of Mecklenburg County. Pineville’s footprint is less than six square miles, but it’s rapidly growing into one of Charlotte’s award-winning communities. “One of the best descriptions of Pineville I’ve ever heard is that it has big-city style with southern charm and personality,” says Karen Van Dyne, a realtor with Allen Tate. She loves the beautiful street lamps running along Main Street in the historic downtown.
Around the Area
Plus, with temperate Carolina weather, residents can play golf up to 10 months out of the year — something Tresa Grossman with Helen Adams Realty enjoys. South Mecklenburg is brimming with golf opportunities, both for those who love to play and those who love to watch. “There are several country clubs within five miles of each other. It’s phenomenal” says Grossman. Perhaps the most well known is Quail Hollow Club, home to the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2017 it will host the PGA Championship. In 2021, it will host the President’s Cup.
South Charlotte has it all! “There’s really something for the entire family,” says Susan Wright with Savvy + Co. Real Estate. “The kids are happy. The adults are happy.” Wright works with a lot of families moving from out of town who are looking for respected schools, family-friendly amenities and safe neighborhoods where kids can play outside. “South Charlotte is ideal for that type of buyer,” says Wright. “It really has that family appeal, that sense of family community.” Clients from areas in the northern United States are drawn to South Charlotte’s sense of community, but they’re sold on the value.
One of Pineville’s most notable traits is its location — a 14-mile drive to Uptown Charlotte, five miles to Ballantyne and seven to SouthPark. It boasts easy access to I-485 and I-77. “It’s located right in a critical hub, in an affluent and desirable area,” says Karin Hull with RE/MAX Metro Realty. “That’s really the hallmark of the community.” Pineville also nurtures a strong community feel with investments in the renovated ball fields and playgrounds at Jack Hughes Park on Main Street. Homebuyers are taking note. “People are realizing it’s a great place to live,” says Hull.
